A processor of macadamia nuts, set up in 2019, led by a dynamic trio of Kenyan female entrepreneurs, passionate and purposeful about creating sustainable and inclusive agribusiness value chains. Today the company is generating 3.8 m USD in revenue.
Partners in Food Solutions provided critical support across multiple areas, starting with a quality assessment and a review of factory layout and processing lines. This led to improved compliance with occupational health and safety standards and enabled the company to access the U.S. market, which now accounts for 50% of its production. The team also supported process development for cold-pressed macadamia oil, helping the client prepare for an FDA audit and refine its retail packaging design. Additionally, two rounds of small-ticket financing were facilitated for the purchase and installation of a macadamia nut roaster and conveyor belts, complemented by expert consultation on equipment selection and capital expenditure planning.
